Brienza Italia Heritage Begins Here...

All About Me

Rocco Brienza began his Italian heritage writings in 2007 being featured on www.SacandagaDigest.com.

Originally from Queens, NY and more recently from Gloversville, NY, Rocco's interest in the Italian culture grew strong through his family values and close knit ties with friends that also grew from within the Italian culture.

One day Rocco hopes to have gathered enough information and community support from all across the U.S. to begin an annual Italian Festa of his own. He also dreams of having satellite international Italian radio and TV stations broadcasted locally in the Italian language much like that of the current Spanish/Latino TV stations.

Currently, Rocco has created some interest from many local and/or abroad businesses that are willing to help coordinate an Italian festival should it be held locally. A meeting will be forthcoming for any interested persons to discuss the probability of making Rocco's dream come true.

Rich in history and culture, Italy influences many aspects of living today. This boot-shaped peninsula that stretches out into the Mediterranean Sea has provided the inspiration for food, music, entertainment, and fashion for hundreds of years. It's often the backdrop for major motion pictures, and Italy often personifies magic, glamour and moments to remember. For those looking to reconnect with Italian heritage or just experience the enchantment of the rolling hills, beautiful coastline, and warm and welcoming people, here are some ideas for surrounding yourself in the spirit of Italy.

Site Dedication
This site is dedicated to the people of Monteleone, Di Puglia, Italy who settled in the USA, Canada, Italy and other regions of the world. I want to use this as a dedication to my parents and my family members before me.

My love of the rich history of Montelonese' is what drives me to learn more of this region and its people. I'm looking for friends, family and history of the Brienza family, De Paola family, De Rosa family, Nunno family, Carangelo family, all whose family came from Monteleone, Di Puglia region.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts or family history of these names please contact me through my email at: roccobrienza@hotmail.com.

Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.

On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research. Most of this information was probably obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible!

This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.

Please get in touch and let me know what you think of my site.
